I have been with Interserver for many years using both Linux and Windows VPS servers. They have been very reliable (far better than the previous hosting company I used) but of course I am touching wood as I write this! There was a major issue affecting the whole network recently but I am grateful Interserver acted quickly and resolved it. The odd problem can hit any host - it's how they deal with it that counts. Support has always answered my tickets fully, politely and promptly.

SiteGround is empowering. They always help when needed, and do it in an instructive way. Their tools and interface are rock solid, as well. I enjoy feeling in control of my digital presence / business and find SiteGround to be a great partner. I always feel 100% safety with Siteground. I'll be honest, I'm worried about renewing just because of the price increase from the deal I had when I first transferred over --- but the customer service and all-around service will help keep me here.

Good services with low prices, Free whois privacy for lifetime as well. Excellent UI and domain management interface. Just need to add more domain extensions in ccTLD as .eg .com.eg .com.br and so on.

Good for domain names, not so good for emails. Low level of support, but prices are competitive.

DiscountASP.net provides excellent hosting for small Websites. Setup and testing with DiscountASP.net was easy from a programmer's perspective. Their e-mail facility, however, is not so good. There are significant delays (up to 30 minutes) in receiving e-mails.

Overall excellent hosting at a fine price.

The email servers must occasionally be the home of spammers, leading them to be blacklisted.

DreamHost has a good product at a good price, but what you can't put a price on is the service. Their customer service has been 100% helpful in solving any issue I've had and always give me some background into the problem so I can avoid it in the future. The service has always been fast, friendly and helpful.

Purchased the basic web hosting plan. I was surprised how fast they had my account setup and running. Was within an hour and the DNS servers propagation time was very reasonable within 24 hours. I asked a couple of questions through their chat support, within seconds a support agent was their to help and gave me more than enough information to answer my questions. All of their software was up to date.

GoDaddy Review by Wayne Hoover

My experience has been pretty good. We came from another platform and email service (which was a nightmare). GoDaddy handled all the migration of our email etc. What I did not understand is transferring our "domain" registrations DID NOT include the actual transfer of our Web Landing page. UGH instant panic. GoDaddy was good at talking me down and helping me with a new Website. That is the one thing about the transfer I wish GoDaddy made clearer, not everyone speaks "tech talk" or understands it. Generally speaking now that we are established things are running great.

DigitalOcean Review by Doug Kingston

I feel like the negative reviews on here misunderstand the nature of DigitalOcean. It is not (and do not market themselves as) a managed hosting service with a great support system. It's true, the support is almost non-existent. I've used DigitalOcean for six years, and the only time I created a ticket, response times were very slow. But if you need lots of virtual servers of varying power and you are confident to manage them yourself, DigitalOcean is brilliant. It's cheap as chips and the user interface is elegant and simple. Deploy servers in under 1 minute! If you can remember web hosting in even the 2000s, this never gets old. Bottom line: if you're confident that you have the skills to manage your own servers, run your own disaster recovery setup, and want lots of power while keeping costs low, DigitalOcean is pretty much the gold standard.
